Siemens Energy, Fortescue Future Industries (FFI) and GeoPura are developing a £3.5 million ammonia cracker prototype in Newcastle, UK. Redrawn Director Huw Dent led a team to design the ammonia cracker vessel to deliver 200 kg of high-purity, PEM-suitable hydrogen fuel per day, and is based on Fortescue’s “Metal Membrane Technology” (MMT) purification process. This technology has been under development by FFI and CSIRO.
Jemena constructed a biogas treatment plant within Sydney Water’s, Malabar Wastewater Treatment Plant. Redrawn director and mechanical engineer Huw Dent led the mechanical design for the biogas package integration, and balance of plant equipment (from Concept through to Issued For Construction detailed design).

CO2Carbon Capture Plant
Air Liquide integrated a new CO2carbon capture facility with an existing thermal power station in South Australia. Complex brownfield modifications were required to supply the new CO2plant with power, steam, exhaust gases and cooling water. Redrawn director Huw Dent was responsible for delivering the detailed design for a 300m long steam piping network connecting 4 boilers to the new CO2plant. The piping operated at 500oC and 18MPag. This was a high-risk installation with complex analytical requirements, requiring consideration of material selection, corrosion mechanisms, flexibility and restrain analysis, thermal expansion analysis and process risks.

Long Duration Energy Storage (LDES)
Redrawn engineers have existing knowledge and research into CO2Long Duration Energy Storage (LDES) systems. Redrawn engineers have previously completed design for compressed air LDES systems. Additionally, Redrawn engineers have existing knowledge and design experience inCO2piping systems, CO2 tanks, CO2corrosion mechanisms, steam boilers, steam piping systems and rotating equipment (including steam turbines, gas turbines and compressors).

Long Duration Energy Storage (LDES) - Compliance
Redrawn was engaged by an unspecified client to investigate the compliance of a CO2Long Duration Energy Storage system to Australian Standards. The Redrawn team assessed wind loading, plume model dispersion, electrical interface, vessel selections, pressure relief valve selections, compressor and turbine systems.
