Redrawn mechanical engineer Eliza Watt has over three years of pump sizing experience working for a prominent pump vendor in Adelaide. Eliza has experience in all facets of pump engineering including; quality control, calculations, material selection, manufacturing techniques and procurement. Eliza managed a team that focused on pumps for quarrying and sandwashing clients. Additionally, Redrawn director and mechanical engineer Huw Dent has over a decade of pump and pipeline sizing experience across the following industries; water, power generation, mining and minerals, oil and gas.
Heavy Industrial Pump Applications
Slurry Pump and Pipeline Sizing
BHP Olympic Dam designed a new thickener process to recover cement like paste from their mineral processing operations. The paste is used to backfill underground mine operations. Redrawn mechanical engineers were engaged to complete detailed design of the line sizing, pump sizing and pump selection for various subsystems to support the thickener process.

Oak Dam Pumps and Pipeline
BHP has been progressing preliminary design for their new Oak Dam Mine development. The new mine requires a new water supply and waste-water disposal system. Redrawn mechanical engineer Huw Dent assisted with preliminary sizing of a 7Km cross country water supply pipeline and waste return pipeline. Redrawn mechanical engineer completed pump sizing calculations for the same service. These preliminary designs were used to complete a CAPEX cost estimate for the water supply.
Preliminary design for cost estimation
Pump Sizing & Power Feeds
Redrawn completed concept design for the Gleneagles Reserve Irrigation Supply Upgrade Project.
Redrawn engineers produced Piping & Instrument Diagrams (P&IDs) for a new groundwater well pump system. Redrawn Process engineers completed a Concept Design Report, assessing the feasibly of using and treating the groundwater. Redrawn Mechanical engineers specified pumps, valves and pipes. Redrawn Electrical engineers designed a switchboard to house LV power distribution and Variable Speed Drives.
Multi-Discipline Engineering Concept Design
Lower Lakes Pump Stations
Redrawn director Huw Dent worked as a Project Engineer to deliver the complete mechanical, electrical and civil installation of three pump stations for the Lower Lakes Irrigation Pipeline Project. Responsible for equipment selection, procurement, OH&S compliance, and standards compliance. The project involved construction of three buildings including installation and commissioning of three gantry cranes, three security systems, seven high voltage pumps, electrical wiring, and control. This role also included the tender development and estimation prior to award.
